Weekend, etc

We had a fun weekend, starting off Saturday morning with a garage sale. Our neighborhood was having its yearly garage sale extravaganza (to borrow a term from Becca's blog), and we joined forces with the Briggs family and covered the front lawn with items to sell. We wheeled and dealed and moved a lot of merchandise! You definitely have to get up early for the good stuff; we were pretty picked over by 9:30. We'd made probably half a dozen sales before 8:00, which was the "official" start time for the neighborhood. I'm not complaining though, just happy to get a lot of stuff out of the house!

The fun continued into Saturday evening, which started by hitting Sonic and having a totally delicious junk-food dinner. Hello, chili cheese dog & chili cheese fries & Sonic blast milkshake! We opened the hatch on the minivan and spread out our picnic in the back. The boys thought their french fries and ice cream dinner was heaven. Then we hit Old Navy and Barnes & Noble for some vacation clothes and books.

Sunday afternoon, Max started riding a big boy bike, which you can see from the previous post. I can't even believe it! We've had the bike in the basement for a couple years because we bought it at a charity auction when I was pregnant with Ben. We thought we'd finally let Max try the big bike, he might be big enough for it now, and whaddya know, he just took off! He's even figured out how to use the brakes to leave little burn-out marks everywhere. What a big kid!

Sunday evening we had a fun church BBQ at a family's house here in Daybreak. Max even rode his bike the 6 blocks or so over to their house and did great! It was a fun evening of good company and relaxation. The other church people just kind of took over feeding and watching the boys so Andrew & I actually got to chat without having to chase kids every 2 minutes - awesome!

And now we are so excited for Memorial Day weekend when Aunt Becca & Uncle Jordan come down for a visit! Yeah!!!!!!! And then Mexico the following weekend. Double yeah!!
